I sentimentally look at 
a map of butterflies 
flying north
soon they’ll be here
oh also

               During a walk along a large pond we heared the first frogs.
& please know I’m not making fun
of that “heared,” it’s lovely
the perfect thing to say
beside a large pond in spring
language existing for us &
not the other way round
& and I know this sounds
cloyingly plainly expressed but oh
that clarinet music and
friends are sick
